Our Story
Our small town has a rich agricultural history of farms and farming families dating back hundreds of years.
We started in the summer of 2014 with only a handful of vendors, and a few loyal customers, for twelve weeks. Over the years we have grown to average 40 vendors a week, thirty weeks a year, with hundreds of customers, and an annual Farm to Table dinner. This is a testament to our wonderful community and the Town of Blythewood, as well as to the amazing farmers and producers who show up every week.
The Blythewood Farmers Market is a 501(c)(4) non-profit that hopes to improve our community by helping grow small businesses.
Meet Our Founder & Market Manager
Since 2014, Michaela has been working to bridge the gap between Blythewood’s historically rural homesteads and the town of Blythewood. The Farmers Market is a local, producer-only market that promotes agriculture and encourages community interaction.
You’ll find Michaela both behind the scenes and on-site, working to build a positive reputation with the vendors and guests in Doko Meadows at the Blythewood Farmers Market.
Fresh Food For All
We're dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to high-quality, locally sourced produce. Our market proudly accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, making healthy food options more accessible to all members of our community.
Our token program at the farmers market provides a convenient and equitable way for SNAP participants to access fresh, locally grown produce and artisanal goods. Learn more here.
